Adult Friend Finder - 2257 - Answers, Please
As far as I can see, AFF is the ONLY major program that has not released any 2257 info to their affiliates. As the new regs come into effect in only 6 days, this is an understatement to say that this is a wee bit troublesome. So, AFF, here's the questions. Please answer:
1) Many affiliates use your hosted banners on their sites and galleries. Many of these banners can be easily identified as 'sexually explicit'. So, on June 23rd are all of the links from these banners simply going to return a big red X. Or is AFF replacing the banners with new, compliant material, that will resolve to the original banner image source? Also, if the banners are being replaced, will they be exactly the same dimensions as the original banners, so as to ensure that page layout is not affected?
The above question is crucial. Some people have literally thousands or hundreds of thousands of gallery pages submitted over the years that would become useless if the above scenario has not been addressed.
2) Many of the member images hosted on AFF would easily fit into the description of sexually explicit material. And, since AFF approves the images before posting, I interpret this to mean that AFF is a secondary producer, therefore subject to 2257.
a) So, are all of the existing members explicit photos being removed by June 23rd?
b) Will all members be sent notice that ID is now required? (I can say that this has not yet been done. I am also a member of AFF, and absolutely nothing regarding the new regs has appeared in my email).
c) Will new members also be required to submit ID and fill in a release before their explicit images are posted?
The above question is also crucial. Depending how this is handled, the rebills and new member sign-ups could plummet considerably. Which would in turn cause a considerable reduction in income for all affiliates.
AFF reps, this is not the first time I have asked these questions. In fact, I have asked them several times over the last month...all to no success. Please give your affiliates at least an ounce of respect and address these very important issues.
