I'm sure you'll get a load of people shouting Spam at you in a minute, but just ignore em. Genuine opt-in lists are a great marketing tool - and, as with all marketing, the more targeted you can get, the better.

Just be sure you use genuine opt-in lists. Spamming is not only uncool, it's unproductive! The best way to be sure, and to get highly-targeted addresses, is to build your own list.
