soccer only has the halftime which means there is only space for few commercials telling people for the billionth time to drink coke, buy a BigMac & drive a ford pickup, can be shown.
This is a lot of air space which is going to "waste" because there are too few commercial breaks, which the TV stations don't like.

With baseball you can throw ads every 12 minutes and it doesn't disrupt the game.
America tried to change the rules of soccer and split the game into 4 periods rather then 2 halves.

Idea didn't fly very well.

America has no passion for the game & only cares about the bling bling which is a reason the sport isn't popular. The exact same can be said for Canada.
