Many uneducated consumers needlessly spend hundreds, or even THOUSANDS of dollars on speakers capable of 50K or better, or else are of the belief that the center and/or rear channels in a Dolby Pro Logic, or 5.1-7.1 system need to have anywhere near the same output power or range as the main left and right channels.

Lucasfilm/THX Labratories is probably the MOST highly regarded authority on Home Theater, and during the $2000 Home Theater workshop/training course I attended put on by the ablove mentioned, they blatently stated that having OVERPOWERED rear, side, or center channels is the most common mistake home theater owners make when setting up their systems ... these extra channels are meant for "ambient" sound only.
