the easiest way to get around it is to write them a letter (phone call usually won't work) and tell them you own your own business (if you don't own a business, don't do it), and request to be excused.

if you read the thing carefully it says that if you are a business owner or if your business could fail without your presence, you can be excused by writing a letter and requesting to be excused. they'll send you a new summons a few months later but you just do the same thing.

well, if you own a TGP and don't update it for a day or whatever your business can sustain heavy losses (maybe?). i've used this every time and it works like a charm, though i really do own a small businesss and i am busy as fuck.
