Hahahahaha, how stupid. I wish my parents got fined for not letting me go to school trips when I was little. You know kids would always tease the ones who weren't allowed or couldn't afford the school trips!!
It's stupid that they went to jail for not paying a fine on something so trivial though. Does Germany not have anyone more worthwhile to jail?
