an average middle to upper class family, both partners working, make around $1k a month here in Mexico (Merida), a manager does around $500 a month and a general manager will do up to $1k or more...
Now, it's possible to live a lot better than in the US with a lot less money, but living like a king is a bit harder than that...
my suggestion, if you're making $5k+ on the internet, and your sponsors wire you the money, then move down here, you'll be kicking ass...

rent $170 (nice 2 bedroom house on a cool neighborhood, private security)
food ~200 month (2 persons)
cable internet $80 a month (not as good as it should be, but it does the job)
