Us kids used to raise newborn 'pussums and 'coons on the farm, they make great pets if handled frequently and lovingly (looks like you guys have that covered, hehe). Give it a nice warm sterile bath (mild soap and salt) and get a rabbit cage, ferret pellets make great food for them.

Yep, we raised a coon too

He was awesome and so smart. From everything I've read about opossums, they are more resilient to rabies than any other mammal. And they are cleaner than cats or dogs and carry less diseases that them too

I'm not worried in the slightest about her getting mean.
I'm not planning on keeping her as a pet really (but who knows), we just want to get her to where she is healthy and can make it on her own...it's the right thing to do
Ferret pellets...just saw those at the store

In Mexico it's hard to get the things we could in the US..but since we were ranchers for so long, my husband is good with vet work, so he will do the sub q rehydration...if we can find the lactated ringers
