Well "let me break it down fur ya". When spammers are confronted by legal related persons they, the spammer(s), can say "They joined an opt-in list and the privacy statement said they will receive 3rd party emails, which they agreed to when they signed up", or they could say, in terms of their removal link, "I thought I removed them from the mailing list(s), let me remove them now". BUT NOW when the recipient of these emails collects all these spammer(s) campaign(s), in a few months a legal representative can go to that spammer and say, ok "where are all the 2257 documents for these galleries you "mailed"?". If the spammer says "I dont have them", then they face legal action, hopefully enough legal action where they wont be able to afford to spam again
