any side effect of any steroid you take (testosterone is also a common steroid) is temporary.
if you were to inject testosterone to boost your own levels, you would definately walk around with an erection as long as you were doing it. while you were busy enjoying this, your body would be shutting down its own test production to rebalance test levels in your body. when you stop injecting test, your test levels will crash completely and your body will take a long time to get its own natural production up to previous levels (depending on the dosage and duration of your injections)
there are also side effects as with any drug that alters your body chemistry and hormonal balances. you can have a hard on all the time which is fun and also grow tits, have unsightly acne/oily skin, water retention, small nuts etc. etc.
