I e-mailed Stuart Lawley, Chairman & President of ICMRegistry.com about xxxregistry.org today, and here is the response I received.
"I cannot speak of this company at all.
What I can tell you is there is NO WAY for anyone to sell or register these
names at this time and will not be for several months at least.
They will only be sold through ICANN accredited registrars.
If you read their site carefully you will see they are not promising
anything at all, as they are unable to do so.
They are just volunteering to put you on a list they are creating , which
will have no bearing on our release or allocation of any names whatsoever.

It's for you to decide, but if you ask me, it's a great way to make $5/domain for doing absolutely nothing, AND also cash in on all the interest that they will make on holding ALL that money.
