.xxx - NEWS RELEASE from MORALITY IN MEDIA, INC.
In this MIM Release, Robert Peters, president of Morality in Media, comments that ICANN?s decision last week to create a special Internet domain for websites that peddle pornography won?t protect children and may exacerbate other pornography related problems.
Bob says that the same problems that limit the effectiveness of filters (e.g., failure to block all porn sites, parents who don?t use filters, access to computers outside the home, and the ability of older children to circumvent technology) will also limit the effectiveness of the new Internet ?red light? district.
?Meanwhile,? Mr. Peters continues, ?we will hear over and over again that government has no legitimate interests in enforcing obscenity laws against Internet pornographers in the district."
