The movie was sci fi but the method used to make bones longer is real. It was invented by a Russian doctor but it was originally invented to treat various problems such as limb deformities, bone defects and whatnot. Pretty far from the use for cosmetic reasons we see here.
Can't people just accept themselves the way they are?
