I watched a similar instance where a young couple were on a beach in a car - the guy was shot and the body in the boot of the car. The girl was never found. The morning after, that beach had everyone and their dogs wandering over it and screwing up any clues that may have been there. Four weeks later, after several showers, they had the brilliant idea of getting a dog in to track her. She has never been found so far, nor any charges laid.

Good point. I'm in NYC the cops here deal with this kind of thing quite often.
Its easy for me to point a finger at cops who deal mostly with confused tourists looking for a restaurant.
