 This is going to be a mess.  ICANN is global so how are they going to give (for example) adult.xxx to adult.com when maybe there is a adult.jp or adult.co.uk...
I'm betting it's going to be first come first serve, unless of course you are helping them promote .xxx, then I'm sure they will work something out for you.
