i think the tgp2 idea was a good one to start out with - after all how many tgp's out there have nice thumbs at the top of their tgp that go to tgp2 style galleries, that is, galleries where the pics open on full html pages.
what i think killed the initial excitement was indeed colin himself - with all his secret projects that he only allowed a few webmasters to look at or to share in - his huge number of tgp2 sites and then the friction that developed when they started to trade with regular tgp sites - this seemed to splinter the initial group of tgp2 owners and resulted in a lot of infighting and a lot of kissing ass to be seen as an insider. and then there was the whole fiasco of using colins tgp2 bucks program - the idea of so heavily promoting so much free porn on sites that were based on the ideology of re teaching surfers that porn is not free, once again splintered the movement.
if you want to find out why the movement died i think you just have to follow the money.
i do beleive the idea was a good one and could be incorporated into many regular tgp sites - after all you can still have good, clean looking galleries that are very hard sell including pics on html pages.
