Sad.

You know women rightfully fought for "equal" cultural status to men for decades, and the reward turns out to be front-line military service and guys "hazing" girls disrespectfully as this story demonstrates. Girl cops, girl boxers, girl fire figthers, girls are equal right?

Even something trivial as having female characters in realistic fighting video games, where they get the shit kicked out of them by male characters (and vice-versa because they're equal) makes me wonder if women are being percieved by men to be a bit TOO equal. And young boys are playing these games and being exposed to this pseudo "girls are equal to boys" imagery at a very young age makes me wonder as a hardcore gamer myself if we're simply building up a myth that women can defend themselves, they don't need any special consideration from men, etc.

Sorry to hear that DWB, ridiculous. If they were gay guys, it would be a "hate" crime and several organizations would take up representing them for justice. But because they're "just women" no one speaks for them.

It's scary really, what kind of a world are young girls being born into right now?
