The Tao Te Ching states that the concept of NOTHING is very important. Without NOTHING, the concept of SOMETHING is irrelevant. Taoism teaches that NOTHINGNESS gives value to life. When you use a clay pot... it is the hollow NOTHING inside that gives value to the something of the surrounding clay. Same with a house... it is the NOTHING..the space inside the four walls that make it liveable.
