I call bullshit.
I've seen plenty of newsreel footage showing extremely grateful french people in the wake of liberation forces. My grandfather was at Juno beach (lost his hearing in the fighting soon thereafter) and had many stories of france and how he and his comrades were received. None of them involved being spat upon, unless it was a detail he left out when he tastefully glossed over the mad sexxing he got while in country.
You have some documentation to back up your claims, aside from a belly full of bile and a handful of hateful literature penned by people who would burst info flame if they ever left the shadows long enough to be touched by sunlight?
