people should not be "trained to handle" other humans by being made into ego driven maniacs. perhaps if the officer wasn't a dick, he could avoided getting slapped around, and macing his partner.

and finally, they do not need to "show these hoodlums who's boss". our penal system is not supposed to be about punishment, humiliation, or degradation. it is based around the belief that people can be rehabillitated. this needs to be evident in all aspects of our system, from police, to judges, to prison construction, etc etc. however too many times, closed minded people such as yourself use incarceration as an excuse to usurp all the rights of the individual. it is unfortunate and sad that a good portion of law enforcement personel are sadists. it is not a productive attitude.
