I had the exact same thing happen to me two years ago. they didn't clean me out but they ran up a few hundred dollars in Pizza Hut charges.
I called the pizza hut that was charging my card and they were worthless fucks when it came to info.
My guess was it was someone working there, ringing up fake charges and then taking the equal amount in cash from the till. probably the same person i talked to when i asked them what the fuck was going on.
The bank refunded my money but that was the last I ever heard of it.
No big deal but a pain in the ass. Had to cancel my card wait 2 weeks for anew one all that shit.
