Interesting, Pete. There's also scholarship to support the contrary position that "incest is unnatural" in human beings. One famous study tracked children raised in a kibbutz in Israel. Almost all of them did not marry any other child raised in the same kibbutz. The kibbutzim study along with others point to a strong natural aversion in humans against incest.
Some academic writers may argue that incest is cultural. Chinese hate endogamous unions going so far as to do ancestral tracing if two engaged people have the same last name. However, some other cultures encourage this so as to preserve wealth, power, and social position. Famous example is the Egyptian pharaohs. Based on tradition, brother married sister.

Well incest has been a part of many cultures and just think about Adam and Eve -- their children had to have had sex with their mother, sisters, etc. in order to create a population... If you don't believe in the bible you have to at least admit that w/o incest we would not have the human race in the first place.
