I cant believe you never realized just how much americans simply "hate".
If its not gays, its canada - if not that its bush.. simply look at gfy alone to get an idea of how much hate is build up and how naturally it comes out.
I have seen friends of mine who work in the industry selling content loose an order because an american refused to buy from a black guy!! Does that makes sense???
