Star wars fans, please explain this to me
I was just watching star wars and I noticed something that I haven't been able to explain to myself.
The jedis have total control over their light sabres and can turn them on and off at will.
This means that even while they are fighting they can turn them on an off at will.
So let's say Jedi 1 attacks Jedi 2. Jedi 1 swings and Jedi 2 parries as their light sabres strike.
With real swords made of steel you can parry that way with the swords striking. However, if a Jedi can turn off his saber and on at any time, All that the attacker has to do is strike with an ON saber, and when the attacked tries to parry, he turns off his saber, the swing gets past the defender's saber and then turn it back on cutting him in half after the parry.
That's what I don't understand?
