In percentage terms, South Korea was followed by Hong Kong, with 59.1 per cent having high-speed connections, Taiwan (50.8 per cent), Canada (42.7 per cent), the Netherlands (41.3 per cent), Japan (38.6 per cent), Singapore (38.2 per cent), Belgium (37.3 per cent) Denmark (36.1 per cent) and Switzerland (33 per cent).
The United States ranked 11th with 29.9 per cent.
In terms of numbers of broadband users, the United States was followed by China (23.2 million), Japan (17.5 million), South Korea (11.5 million), France (6.1 million), Germany (5.7 million), Britain (5.6 million), Canada (5.3 million), Italy (3.8 million) and Taiwan (3.3 million).
