Makes sense, to a degree.

This approach could cover all future members, as you will be able to control the images that you allow to be included with a profile.

But, I still see a very significant job ahead of you (and all date sites), when you are also tasked with (a) directing all current members to remove any explicit images. And, as these images are posted to "arouse" other members, I would infer that any images depicting nudity can be defined as sexually explicit.
and (b) going through each profile to ensure that members have complied.

Just playing devil's advocate..but also trying to look at the 2257 issues with attention to how the "leaders" are going to respond to this issue.
