Before you go an kill a bunch of plants and waste money. Where at in your home do you want the plants to live? How much sun light does each area provide in realitive hours?
Some will need full sun (6-8 hours a day) Partial sun (3-5 hours a day) mostly shade (1-3 hours) and then no direct sun.
After you have this info you will be a lot better off when you pick plants.
