Dial-up won't be completely dead in 5 years. I have a friend that lives in this very rural town in very rural county( less than 7000 ). No cable there though the county seat has cable. It's called Ray's cable. Yep some guy named Ray owns his own cable company there. And while 99% of the rest of my state has Bellsouth as the phone company they have this little outfit called TdsTelecom. They do have DSL but my friend lives just out of range for it. So no in 5 years probally 20 years from now he'll still be on dial-up.
