That sounds like a cultural problem in the area you were living. Arab men in general look down upon women and people all over the world molest kids. You could say the same thing about the red neck Christians who live in the hills of Kentucky and Tennessee who fuck their daughters and beat their wives.
The Koran teaches peace. As does the Bible. But that doesn't stop asses from either doing shit that they interpret is OK or will be forgiven by prayer.
