Look, I will admit that I have not worked for a company that was not a corporation since 1971, and prior to that I was always a great employee, and usually worked pretty close to the owner, so I have not had much personal experience, negative or otherwise with "managers." However, let's talk reality here. An employee saying something to his manager, in private, about his personal thoughts about some guy standing in line, is hardly cause for termination.

Yeah in reality odds are the manager would not fire the person and at most just write them up, unless they did not like the person and wished them gone. Though in reality a manager would also never go up and tell the person in line what the employee said.
However my comment was not about what would happen, but what can happen if a manager wants it to.
