KMR I can't go into too much detail let's just say it's a manifestation of a common behavior I've noticed here in Los Angeles. It's something I've never run into before anywhere in the world.
Businesses in California forget one thing: YOU are the CUSTOMER. NOT the 'help', NOT the 'guy who looks like the villain on the tv show', NOT the 'person who looks like someone's ex'.
I've never seen anything like this before. I pay CASH. Not credit cards and promises. I'm polite when I hit the door but people out here in Hollywood act like they're doing YOU a favor by taking YOUR money! There are only a few, few establishments I've been to where there wasn't some fight a few hours earlier!
In NY if you acted like this you'd be outta business by the end of the day and probably in a hospital.
I think the problem in Los Angeles is there are so many people now businesses don't have to compete for traffic so it's a 'fuck you be lucky you've got a seat' attitude.
Not only that but too many people out here actually think they're ON a tv show! They're in some kind of bizarre dream where they think they're the star of their own show and everyone else in the universe is a walk on player.
