Ok well first of all, in your original post you said never buy jewelry without seeing it first........now you're talking about problems with escrow.com.....what does that have to do with seeing the jewelry first??
If the seller won't use escrow.com then you find another seller, there are plenty of them on ebay. Also if you pay using paypal you have plenty of options there as well.
Alot of the jewelry guys selling on ebay are power sellers, they do it for a living......read the remarks from the hundreds of people that have bought from them before you decide who to buy from. It's just like doing research for any other type of purchase.....but you'll end up paying about 1/3 of the jewelry store price for the exact same diamond by buying it off of ebay.
