Most artists will draw stuff up for you if you tell them what you want. Keep looking around until you find someone who can draw up EXACTLY what you want and is on the same page as you.

I got my first last year (8 hour job) and waited that long because I never found anyone that had the same vision I did. When I met that guy and he drew it out for me and it was exactly what I had in my head... it was a deal.

Story about my tat... It portrays one of the stories of Buddha's life. In particular the one when the raging floods and heavy rain came and the Naga (protectors of Buddha and all things sacred, looks like a multi head serpent) crawled under Buddha, lifted him from the floods and covered his head so he did not get wet. My tat is an image of this with the waters raging around him as the Naga are rising up to protect him while Buddha sites in total calmness.

My tattoo artists is a hardcore Buddhist and believes all that goes with it. When he put it on my arm he told me it would protect me from harm. I got this tat in Thailand. 7 days later it was hit by the Tsunami. I was supposed to go to Phuket for Christmas but at the last minute came home to visit my family after having a discussion with my tattoo artists about the importance of family.
