...the accumulative result of negative experience.
example:
(positive experience) - take a look at the character of a person who has been given everything...
(negative experience) - and then take a look at the character of a person who has been given nothing
example 2:
(positive experience) - take a look at the character of a person who is very attractive.
(negative experience) - take a look at the character of a person who is very unnattractive.
in both of these examples, if you were to take every applicable person and shove them into those categories, you would probably find that they are quite the same...
so if you want to improve the quality of your character, then do what it takes to experience both negativity and positivity
negativity:
volunteer at a homeless shelter
stay home instead of going out (isolation)
positivity:
treat yourself to something nice
treat somebody else to something nice
The key to happiness, satisfaction, and sound character is not by avoiding the bad, but by accepting it and learning from it.
