i hate threads like these, but i wanted to pint something out to AaronM (if no one else has...i only skimmed the thread)
while the statement is somewhat true that "you can take the boy out of the hood.....", anyone who has been through the bullshit of living in the hood/ghetto does NOT wear it like a badge of honor. the only people who do are posers who think it's cool to be from the hood, or people in the public eye (mainly rappers) that have to continue to perpetuate the street cred.
i'm willing to bet that the folks you ran into weren't from compton
