and acutely american and having black friends and speaking on these matters ill say the following

because blacks want to be totally opposite of whites on every level. culture, clothing, speach, business, behaviour ect. blacks feel if they assmilate to societies standards, whitey controls them. this ideology goes back to the days of slavery and thats a whole other topic but is relevent to this one.

MTV and the media arent perpetrating anything as much as your alluding to. the ghetto it is what is is and is reported and perpatrated as such by blacks on every level, wether an artist or an athelete ect, its an attitude and behaviour.
black kids arent that influenced by what they see on MTV or TV - they live in the ghetto and they live and see that shit their whole lives and that message is in Rap and hip hop.
youve got black artists "keeping it real" - so they say until the check comes in but after cashing in do any live in the hood?
fuck no.
they get the fuck out yet still perp they got street cred by showing them in vidoes living a ghetto lifestyle - but in reality theyre doing it in million dollar homes with whitey in the burbs.
talk to the people who behave in this manner who have acces to the media, wether an artist, actor, athelete.
basketball comes to mind ... and that influences the rest.
MTV caters to whitey.

In white society 20 yrs ago tattoos and long hair and being in a band doing drugs went agaisnt the norm in white society and whit kids had theyre rebeles -
not anymore.
everyone has a tattoo and drugs are common place. long hair isnt antisocial.
kids look to the rebels in society which are now in the ghettos.
what pisses off society more than a young black gangster?
now we got whitey and asians acting ghetto. cause its rebelous.
latins never got influenced by blacks like whitey and the asians. they have their own idenity. and they aint changing it for nobody. especially to a black one.
