This isn't about a young man being insubordinent. This is about adult's using poor judgement. There's a thing called discretion and if any teacher or principal on that staff had half a brain they would have never let something like this escalate to national news. Lets pretend for a moment that this kid was rude, breaking the rules, didn't tell the teacher it was his mother calling from Iraq, etc etc... surely after finding out that it was his mother, they SHOULD have looked the other way and not given this kid more grief than he already has. Your mother is in Iraq, you won't see her for a year, she's risking her life, and you're getting national news coverage because you received a phone call from her during LUNCH while you were in school. Ridiculous!
This country and people in this country make mountains out of mole hills. We put so much time and effort into nonsense and less important things. Osama bin Laden roams around the world free... but FEAR NOT! We have a teenager and his cell phone abuse under control
