Yes you're exactly right... This time it could be for real because there are a lot of politicians in the Democrat party that will publicly support high profile obscenity prosecutions.
Basically, I fear that there will be an alliance created between the fundamentalist Christian right and certain ambitious Democratic politicians to go after online porn. It's a win win situation for someone like Hillary Clinton. She can appeal to the radical feminists in the far left and wingnuts in the extreme right at the same time. The only people who will get pissed are the youth(who don't vote) and the pornographers (who have no allies)
There are many potential candidates for President in 2008 from the Democratic party that wish to distance themselves from the social liberals and be viewed as moderate. Prosecuting online porn will achieve that political outcome.
