Yeah, that is horrible. They're either clueless or just dont care whether or not they have affiliates.
That is still not as bad as what topheavyamateurs.com did with their affiliate program though. They started out as 60/40 recurring for life and got lots of webmasters to promote them. Then a year into their program, they change their payout structure to 33% payout with no recurring. Total scammers.
Another sponsor that just pays 50/50 with no recurring is Abby Winters (

"While we're interested in growing our site, we're not going to do the things many affiliates demand. We'd love to have you on board, but our site is doing just fine without you."
