Hotel California cover was shot in the lobby of the Lido Hotel which was very popular with rock stars in the 60's. The Eagles may have been talking about Janis. She frequented the Lido.

It's a wonder the Lido is still standing at Yucca & Wilcox in Hollywood. Los Angeles has always been guilty of tearing down all the buildings that have character.
