Lots of people drink and maybe they go too far. It's not the mistake. It's what you do after the mistake is made...that counts.
This thread offered a back handed apology...and excuses.
We no longer live back in the day...when it was okay to grope women without consequences.....or drink to the point of embarrassment. Back then, it was something to brag about. Not in today's business world.
And, yes, shoe conventions are far worse. So are psychiatrist conferences, except all the drugs are legally prescribed....like exchanging phone numbers....behaviour is just as inappropriate....
Ask any hotel about shoe salesmen. LOL
Still, we're leveraging for some legitimacy. Owners can choose to do whatever they please. They are the check writers and have dominion over their behaviour and the behaviours of their reps. Even then, the consequences can be dire for future business dealings. We simply can't afford to act as we used to.....
