Actually, there is a gadget involved, but the effect is you borrow a dollar, crumple it up and lay it on your hand and it starts to rise. You then pull your hand back and it stays suspended in mid-air and you can pass your hands all around, above and below it and even back up several feet away from it. Then you reach out and get it, uncrumple it and hand it back to them.
