I know of a few bums that would object to that comparison...
Seriously, the Bum Fighting bit is nothing but a Bang Bus on a different level.
That is to say, with minimal advertising:
- The guy sold over 10,000 tapes of this spoof (and it is a spoof, which those of us who have seen the tape know) in the three weeks after release.
- He's now offering DVD's as well, which are cost effective only in quantities of 1,000+.
- He found and used local talent in a way that they have no complaint regarding exploitation.
- He's made an artistic statement regarding the times we live in that will most likely outlive himself.
- He hit a winner at the start of his career- right out of art school, making a name for himself and opening a door to a range of future projects.
HEY! We should all be so lucky...
