Me too!
I'm not sure if anyone will ever be able to remake "The Bad News Bears" with any great success. Walter Matthau and his attitude is what made that movie so great. Well, the deliquent kids played a part but a small one.
It's like remaking "The Last Starfighter" using Brad Pitt. It just won't work.
