Be hydrated always. The day before drink enough water, the day of, while drinking, before bedtime drink even more water, and when you wake up drink as much water as you can.
Having a healthy body where you regularly do cardio and lift weights will allow for a faster recovery time, mostly because your body will filter / deal with the poison more efficiently.
So... be healthy, be fit. And of course drinking water is a big apart of that.
