I would be leary of going to the porn star parties in L.A. They are deffo not webmaster gatherings, and generally guys get refused entrance if they don't bring chicks with them. I went to one with a friend (editor at Hustler,) we were on the list and all, and the club owner walked up and said we looked "suspicious." Keep in mind, this owner looked like a day player on the Sopranos, hair on his knuckles and everything. They kicked us out because we didn't buy another round of drinks immediately after the first. Like a said, total hustle. The art gallery one sounds legit, though.
