1. Herpes isn't a life threatening disease. Sure once you get it you have it for life but it's more of bothersome disease than anything else.
2. The average person with herpes has 1 or 2 out breaks in their lifetime. Some rare case there are those that have more. And a herpes outbreak is usually during times when you are already sick, like with the flu, or under alot of stress.
3. When the last time I was at AIM I was told that the majority of people in the adult industry have it. (Like 80%) And that amongst the general populace it's close to 25% Given those statistics I won't worry until I hear about a herpes related death.
4. Condoms do absolutely shit to stop the spread of herpes.
5. People tend to talk about STDs like they are the end of the world. They are a sickness or infection or etc. like any other. They carry such a strong stigma with them because of the way they are contracted and because a bunch of right-wingers want us to feel that sex is dirty and scary.
I give a man oral without a perservatif and I rarely use them for regular sex too. In the end I probably run less health risks than a person that smokes.
