To start: the more options the better. give the surfer more ways to pay and there is a bigger chance they will become a paying customer.

translate your join pages into the top 10 languages
- do a browser language look up and serve up the join page in the end
users default browsing language.
Why? Surfers are more apt to buy if they are more comfortable and can
understand the join page text
also - very important
perform a GEO IP look up once the user clicks through to the join page.

Allows you to serve up join options which will only work from the users
country of origin. i.e Do not show on-line checks to surfers from
outside the USA / Canada as they are worthless. Also get a hold of
your CC processor blacklist and send the total crap traffic to dialer
or pay by mail.
Lastly, GEO allows you to show your Euro surfers join pages not in USD
but in Euros or pounds sterling. It really makes a difference if you show
prices in local currency, Int'l buyers get confused seeing everything
quoted in USD
