I totally disagree with how you see this. With all due respect, the only way I could ever say someone has "went up many notches in my book" just by spitting out a lame excuse after all those false accusations, is if my circle of friends and associates is made up of thieves, shady businessmen and scumbags, and I have extremely low expectations of everyone around me.
