I understand the frustration man.
It's not so much 'the nation it once was' as much as the potential the socio/political system has. I mean, never, in the history of humanity have advances in social and political policy been experienced. What is frustrating is walking away from what could be something brand new in the history of humanity. Maintaining the principals of the settlers (as per John Ralston Saul's "Voltaire's Bastards") would in fact create a civilization and community unlike anything ever experienced. I've given up fighting it. The US could be a model to humanity. In many ways it is, like Switzerland, Canada and other progressive countries, but the two party system holds things back. Right now 'Liberal" has taken on the same meaning as 'traitorous rat bastrd psychotic'. It's sad, but a by-product of arrogance. Step aside man, nothing you can do, when war returns to this continent, and innocent people are murdered, there is only one person to blame. BUSH Inc. (corporations have the same rights as human being - see "the corporation) But it'll be blamed on someone else.
